The team of the Institute of Cyber Warfare Research presents three studies created for the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) and the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity (NCCC) with support provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development within the USAID Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure in Ukraine Activity. These studies cover such important topics as the ENISA assessment of Ukraine’s national cyber capabilities, analysis of cyber threats in 2023, and experience in countering cyber warfare.

The study «Assessing the Overall Cybersecurity State of Ukraine» was made possible through support provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development within the USAID Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure in Ukraine Activity. The author’s views expressed in this publication do not necessarily reflect the views of the United States Agency for International Development or the United States Government.

These studies are aimed at providing up-to-date and practical information to decision-makers in the field of cyber defense of Ukraine, contributing to the improvement of the country’s cyber resilience.

On the eve of the International Day of Personal Data Protection, a round table was held in the Office of the Ombudsman

The event was attended by representatives of the Commissioner, the Verkhovna Rada, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Council of Europe, the EU4DigitalUA project, and public organizations.

The Ombudsman’s Secretariat presented the results of monitoring the state of ensuring the right to personal data protection in 2022.

George Paparyga, a representative of the Cyber ​​War Research Institute, presented a report on the relevance of personal data protection in cyber war conditions.

They discussed the prospects of updating the legislation, taking into account international standards, about artificial intelligence and personal data, and about today’s challenges that must be solved at the state level, including involving the cyber community.

 INSTITUTE OF CYBER WARFARE RESEARCH PARTICIPATED IN NATIONAL DEFENSE HACKATHON 2022

 

The Institute of Cyber Warfare Research participated in the National Defense Hackathon 2022, which brought together the best specialists in cyber security and countering disinformation, leading IT experts from the private and state spheres.

 

The event was organized by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Coordination Center for Cyber Security and the Center for Countering Disinformation with the support of CRDF Global in Ukraine, U.S. Department of State and NATO.

NATIONAL CYBER SECURITY CLUSTER – PLATFORM FOR DIALOGUE REGARDING STRENGTHENING OF UKRAINIAN CYBER PROTECTION

The Institute of Cyber Warfare Research and about 200 representatives of the state and private spheres, including heads of critical infrastructure facilities, and together with representatives of international organizations from the USA and European countries, joined the final meeting of the National Cyber Security Cluster on the topic: “War in cyberspace 2022: conclusions, accomplishments and deficiencies”. This event was held with the support of the Civilian Research and Development Fund of the US Department of State.

In connection with the war, which continues not only on the battlefield, but also in cyberspace, Ukraine has a unique practical experience of cyber defense, which other countries of the world do not possess.

THE INSTITUTE OF CYBER WARFARE RESEARCH JOINED THE INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS CONFERENCE “UA: HUMAN RIGHTS IN DARK TIMES”

The Institute of Cyber Warfare Research joined the International Human Rights Conference “UA: Human Rights in Dark Times” on the 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adoption and promulgation by the UN General Assembly.

The conference was solemnly opened by the President of Ukraine.

The Head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak also took part in the event, who emphasized the work ineffectiveness of international human rights institutions and the need for their restructuring or the creation of an international rapid response body that will help countries that have come under aggression.
